Site Visits During Phase I and Phase II
Site visits are one of the many ways SOCOM expresses its commitment to actively manage the technology efforts for success. Contracting Officer's Representatives and their technical assistants visit the firm's facility, meet the people involved in developing the technology, and investigate the firm's ability to commercialize the technology. SOCOM believes that relationship building is important and site visits are typically the initial Phase I post award event to develop a good working relationship with its SBIR firms.
SOCOM Contacting Officer's Representatives are encouraged and make every attempt to visit firms within the first four weeks of the Phase I contract award date. The Contracting Officer's Representatives will conduct follow-on site visits thereafter as necessary.
