Topic Concept Submission

SOCOM invites private industry to submit innovative topic concepts that could benefit SOCOM.

Topic concepts should:

  1. be relevant to endorsed technology areas;
  2. meet a critical requirement or technology thrust area but not provide a ready approach or solution;
  3. have dual-use potential in civilian commercial markets;
  4. be unique and represent innovative ideas;
  5. be considered R&D, not procurement; and
  6. not be classified, sensitive, or proprietary in nature.

What is considered "classified, sensitive, or proprietary"?
Information that constitutes a trade secret, proprietary commercial or financial information; confidential personal information; or data affecting the national security

Topic concepts may be submitted at any time. However, concepts are not forwarded to appropriate subject matter experts and potential topic authors until the formal SOCOM topic call period begins. Topic concepts should be limited to 500 words or less.
